Hello everyone, today I thought of sharing the story behind the Mustard Seed in my eyes.

Do you guys know the story of the MUSTARD SEED?? Matthew 13:31-32

“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a man planted in his field. That seed is the smallest of all seeds, but when it grows, it is one of the largest garden plants. It becomes big enough for the wild birds to come and build nests in its branches.”

I shared this story in one of my fashion post before however I got a lot of questioning on why I posted fashion pictures and added a bible verses to it.

Firstly I don't have to explain myself but I feel I need to put across the aim of me posting the verse. The verse is very uplifting to me as I see myself as a Mustard Seed.

I have battled with confidence over the past years and I have only just gotten back into blogging. I had to find confidence within myself however this verse Matthew 13:31:32 came to my mind one days and it was such a coincidence that I was wearing a mustard cardigan and it was my fist post after 2 years. I thought to myself "is God trying to tell me something" I was so excited that I wanted to share it.

I believe God has great things in store for all of us. I wasn't trying to be a Christian fashion blogger as some would say. I just feel that at times I am so blessed that I actually don't know what I'm writing or saying that could be encouraging to others. I am not afraid of being a Christian, I am not here to please people, to make anyone feel uncomfortable when reading my posts but I am here to fulfil my purpose in life.

I stopped blogging because I was petite (Size 6) and most of the times when I blogged people never looked at the outfit I was wearing but rather my body. I got complements like "OMG You're so skinny" and believe me I always had a brave face when they said those things to me but then one day it really got to me and I gave up on blogging. I didn't post much on social media like I used to but that never stopped me from taking my selfies. LOL

Today I'm happy with my weight (size 10) more confident and back to blogging. I accept that not everyone can have the body they wish to have. All we can do is be thankful that it is a healthy body. I was once a seed but today I am a tree! A tree that is ready to bare so many fruits, flowers. A tree that is ready to be shaken by the winds of life.

To everyone who is battling with confidence always remember that what you think of yourself is far much important than what others think of you.

Never give up on your dreams, dream big! Allow people to laugh at you but one day they will be the one wanting to sit at your table and one day you will also thank them for they made you stronger.

If you have a vision follow it! All you need is the strength to conquer it. We all have great potentials that the world is lacking, be the change you want to see in life. Be passionate with your life! Be your own leader and don't be afraid to fall as challenges will come in life but just get back up and be who you want to be.

Always smile, never forget to include God in all that you do. If I can do it, you can do it also.

Hope you enjoyed reading my post

  1. Lovely post Chileshe, I really enjoyed reading this. I'm also finding my confidence and it's literally God making me grow each day. You don't have to justify yourself for posting scriptures and if they relate to what you wanna put across then do it proudly! You never know how much that can really help uplift someone. Jojo X

    1. Aww thanks honey!! Funny thing a woman from Voice of Nations Dr Sylvia Likambi came to my university and spoke exactly the same thing a day after I posted this!!! She used an example of an orange seed instead of the mustard seed. Listening to her gave me so much courage, motivation and confidence!! xxx

  2. Positive positive positive! Love it and the story behind it xx

  3. I'm in love with this post thanks boo
